Annual General Meeting 2019

Annual General Meeting 2019

NHS Newham Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), the organisation responsible for planning and buying most local health services, held their annual general meeting on Wednesday 5 September.

The meeting provided an opportunity to bring together CCG staff, GPs, other local health and social care organisations, patients and the public to hear about some of the work of the CCG and also to look ahead to the year to come.

Key achievements presented at the meeting included the CCG being rated as good by NHS England in their Improvement Assessment Framework, the advanced end of life pathway, which is giving people greater control over their end of life care and the introductions of online GP consultations providing quicker and easier access to primary care services for local people.

The meeting also provided an opportunity to present our financial position and formal accounts demonstrating to the people of Newham and our healthcare partners how we have met our financial duties, achieved financial balance and spent taxpayers’ money wisely.

Newham CCG’s annual report and accounts are available to view and download on the CCG’s website - www.newhamccg.nhs.uk/annualreport.

Dr Muhammad Naqvi, a local GP and chair of Newham CCG, said:

“This is an exciting time for Newham CCG as we work closer with our local partners to improve healthcare services in Newham and beyond. The annual general meeting provided an opportunity to present our formal accounts and demonstrate how we are achieving best value and quality for local people.

We continually encourage our local population to get involved with our work and be active players in shaping the local healthcare system. If you want to get involved or find out more about our work you can speak to us at the Barts Health Open Day at Newham Hospital on Wednesday 18 September between 10.30am and 4pm. We look forward to seeing you.”

We will also be holding our Governing Body meeting on Wednesday 25 September from 12- 2pm, 4th Floor, Unex Tower, Stratford E15 1DA. All members of the public are welcome to attend.
