Newham CCG staff attend NHS 70 service at Westminster Abbey

Two members staff from Newham Clinical Commissioning Group attended a special service at Westminster Abbey to celebrate 70 years of the NHS.

The CCG’s managing director, Selina Douglas, was joined at the service by senior commissioning manager Victoria Kankam.

The event formed part of the nationwide celebrations taking place to mark 70 years since the former health minister Aneurin Bevan founded the health service on July 5, 1948.

NHS England and NHS Improvement invited current and former NHS staff to attend the service on Wednesday (5 July) where the congregation also included the Countess of Wessex, NHS chief executive Simon Stevens, and a number of patients.
