Community Services Survey
Help us improve your community cardiology, dermatology, gynaecology and minor services survey
For a number of years, patients in Newham have had the option of going to a GP practice or local health centre to access cardiology, dermatology, gynaecology and minor surgery services. Rather than going to hospital for these services you may have been offered treatment outside of hospital.
If you have experience of using one of these services listed below, we would like to hear about your experience.
For example, we would like to hear from patients who have:
- Had an echocardiogram (ECG) and consultation at The Centre Manor Park
- Had treatment for a skin condition such as dermatitis at the Appleby Centre
- Had minor surgery at Greengate Surgery
- Had a gynaecology consultation at Stratford Village Surgery
Without a community service, patients normally have to wait 18 weeks for routine treatment from referral by their GP to see a healthcare professional about their condition. Since we started offering these services locally waiting times have been reduced by an average of 10 weeks.
In March 2019 the existing contract expires for these services and we are planning to re-procure them. We are determined to get the best services in place for patients so before we go out to procurement, we are reviewing the current pathway for all four services and we would love to hear what is important to you.
Complete the survey by the end of February 2019.
Our patient and public engagement action plan in the download section on the right outlines how patients and the public can get involved in shaping the future of community services in Newham.
The survey has now closed. 171 took part in the survey and 30 people have expressed an interest in getting involved further. Follow this link to download the engagement report.
