Future Generation

Future Generation - a collaborative approach to shaping health services for children and young people
Newham has the youngest population in England and one of the highest birth rates. In the past, health and wellbeing services for children and young people have been hard for children, young people and their families to use and not easy for professionals either. We believe the needs of children and young people and their families should be at the heart of our work, together with suggestions from health and care professionals about how services can be improved. This is what ‘Future Generation’ is all about – giving children, young people and their families a voice in the creation of better health services.
Key projects
We are focusing on the following key areas in our work with children and young people:
- Our Youth Commissioners are helping to redesign local diabetes services for young people
- Future in Mind is aiming to transform mental health support - putting young people in Newham at the centre of change
